From the White House to DC Council to community meetings, Kelly Mikel Williams public service experience spans federal, state, local, and neighborhood government. His life experience includes living out of his car, raising his son while jobless, and caring for his elderly mother.
It’s Kelly Mikel’s unusual combination of experiences and his relationships across the District of Columbia that equip and motivate him to run for Congress and represent the diverse state where he has lived for more than 25 years.
Kelly Mikel has lived through DCs past, he’s contributing to its present, and he has concerns and hopes for DCs future. That’s why Kelly Mikel is stepping up to advocate for us in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kelly Mikel Will Deliver for the District
As the District of Columbia’s sole Representative in Congress, Kelly Mikel’s top priority will be to ensure that the Nation’s Capital doesn’t miss anymore opportunities to protect its residents, retain and increase its funding, empower its elected officials, and obtain full self governance. Politics as usual will end and a vision of hope will begin addressing the challenges he knows firsthand.
